Representatives from Target Corp. (NYSE: TGT) and other major U.S. retailers met with President Donald Trump on Monday, raising concerns on the impact of tariffs on imported goods that represent a large portion of the products on their shelves.

The New York Times has a report on the meeting, the latest in a series of lobbying efforts from industries worried about the prospect of a trade war following the Trump administration’s plan to hike tariffs on imports from countries worldwide. Trump has since paused his planned hikes on most countries, while raising them even higher on goods from China, a major source of imports.
