The de minimis exemption will end Aug. 29 for imports into the U.S., according to a White House fact sheet released Wednesday. The exemption currently allows imports under $800 to enter the U.S. duty and tax free, a key driver in the rise of direct-to-consumer shipping models like Shein and Temu.
